Personal

I graduated from California State University, Los Angeles after completing an undergraduate degree and the coordinated dietetics program to become a Registered Dietitian in 1978.  I was the first in my Spanish-Italian family to go to college and I remember the struggle to become a registered dietitian.  Like many of you, I supported myself and paid for my education by working throughout college.  Looking back, I continue to be eternally grateful for the wonderful dietitians and teachers that mentored and encouraged me to achieve my goal.

Today, I have the opportunity to work with WIC employees across the state that are going back to college, completing dietetic internships and preparing to pass the RD exam.  We started the RD Exam Study Program in 2004 and have helped over 100 employees pass the RD exam and receive their RD.  What a joy to do the work I am so passionate about and I’m proud to be associated with WIC and their commitment to helping employees achieve their career goals.
